ICMTA Teachers' Gathering 2019
31st May - June 4th 2019
Leading Ourselves and Others
We are delighted to invite you to France for our 2019 Teacher Gathering. Come and join us as we gather to learn from and with one another. Our annual event is renowned for creating a warm and welcoming opportunity to meet as old and new friends and to inspire and nourish the work we do.
This year’s theme is ‘Leading Ourselves and Others'. We have some wonderful Guest Teachers, to be announced, who will bring sessions to explore and expand this theme.
As teachers, we are also leaders, both of ourselves and others. Leaders hold a vision and offer a direction. They empower individuals and groups to journey together, and create safe conditions and a meaningful context. In our dynamic dance practices, our ability to provide direction and hold a safe space is essential for allowing the dancers on our floors to explore deeply. To do this requires an ongoing cultivation of both inner and outer skills. In this gathering, we will explore different aspects of this rich territory.
Come join us for the 6th annual ICMTA Teachers’ Gathering. After Amsterdam, London, Orval (Belgium), Budapest and Edinburgh, the 2019 gathering will be held at the beautiful Hameau de l’étoile near Montpellier in the south of France. These gatherings are widely reported to be nourishing, regenerating, inspiring and fun. Their success comes from the presence of each one of us - please join us for this next co-creation.
“Sharing gives us strength, it enriches us and makes us bigger than ourselves. Come and share these few days to meet others, to enrich yourself and go deeply into this adventure that we as teachers have chosen – to bring dance and conscious movement to people’s lives and make this practice a common ground, a shared language and a way of being and living."
