Continuing Professional Development

An important part of our mission is to support our members in their professional development and ongoing learning.

We are currently offering regular monthly dances held by teachers for teachers: Feet 1st. Please see here for details and next dates.

The Turning of the Seasons
Included in our monthly dances together through the year will be a quarterly offering by specialist teachers in their field.

These sessions will be a focus on a very particular area of professional development and education. For example, inclusivity work on the dance floor, music and DJ skills, non-violent communication, sexuality, creative processes such as writing/theatre/voice work in conscious movement spaces.

They will be 1,5 hours long, different to the one hour movement and sharing sessions held by teachers for teachers.

These events are free for members.

If you have a particular skill or field of knowledge you would like to offer, please let us know at info@icmta.com. The teachers are paid for these events.

For the December 1st Turning of the Seasons we will be holding a celebration of all of the talents and possibly unknown gifts that each of us can offer or bring to each other – it could be anything! Little soundbites of a wonderful exercise, a poem, an extraordinary piece of music that speaks to possibility on the dance floor and in life, a joke, the playing of an instrument, a short reading of something inspirational, a movie recommendation – and of course a dance together.

Let us know if you would like to offer something! Anything up to 10 minutes!

ZOOM TUTORIAL

In March 2020, right at the beginning of all the lock-downs, Sarah Davies very swiftly offered ICMTA members a Zoom tutorial on teaching classes online. Many of us are still grateful to her for having helped us begin this new era of our teaching.

The full video is available for members in the Resources For Members section.

While we make every effort to ensure that the information on this site is accurate, we cannot guarantee that everything is up-to-date when you read it. Please check with us, or the ICMTA member concerned, if it is important.
