2 Music pearls: Wood Dove & Dangerous

by Sue Usher, 5Rhythms teacher in Seattle, Washington, USA.

from March 2024 Newsletter

Wood Dove by Nick Cave & Warren Ellis

"The strange beauty of the wood dove’s song accompanied by Cave’s and Ellis’ soft vocals, piano, and marimba touches my heart. I play to gently wake up the dancer at the beginning of a dance or to bring a set to close."

Dangerous by & Friends, Dr Feel and Phina Asa

"Dangerous has great steady slow percussion . The vocalist's powerful voice and a flute weaves in and out of these.  The song builds slowly with long pauses in the beats.  It’s a good warm-up transition song from flowing to stronger faster beats".
